October 2011

The following proposed bylaw amendment has been approved by government:

Schedule C: Recognized Nursing Education Programs

At the September 23, 2011 Board meeting, the Board of the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) met to consider changes to Schedule C: Recognized Nursing Education Programs.

Three nursing education programs are no longer offered and their recognition has expired. In each case, the decision to stop offering the program and allow its CRNBC recognition to expire was made by the educational institution.

The following three programs are removed from Schedule C:

  1. British Columbia Institute of Technology: Nurse Practitioner (Adult) Post-master’s Certificate Program.
  2. The Education Company-Stenberg College: Registered Nurse Re-entry Program.
  3. Vancouver Island University: Registered Nurse Re-entry Program.

A copy of the proposed Schedule C amendments has been distributed to BC health professions colleges and is posted on the CRNBC website to ensure that the public and other interested stakeholders may view the proposed changes in a timely manner.
