Nurse Practitioner Standards

The Nurse Practitioner Standards Committee develops and recommends to the Board, standards, limits and conditions for the practice of nurse practitioners in accordance with the Nurses (Registered) and Nurse Practitioners Regulation.

Duties

The Nurse Practitioner Standards Committee develops and recommends to the Board, standards, limits and conditions for the practice of nurse practitioners in accordance with the Nurses (Registered) and Nurse Practitioners Regulation.

Composition

Registrants, including a nurse educator from a nurse practitioner education program.

External: Two medical practitioners; pharmacist; Ministry of Health representative; and a public representative (member of the public or appointed board member).

Meetings

Two to three in-person meetings (with conference call option). If required, may hold up to two to three conference call meetings. The subject matter determines the length of the conference call.

Pre-Meeting Preparation

Between one to three hours.​​​​
