CRNBC Registrant Library services will end Feb. 2017

posted Aug. 3, 2016

CRNBC’s mandate is to protect the public through the regulation of registered nurses and nurse practitioners. We continuously review our services to ensure our work aligns with this regulatory mandate. After assessing a number of our services, we have decided to close our registrant library service effective February 28, 2017.

Our assessment showed that registrant use of the library is low; in 2014-15, less than 5% of CRNBC registrants accessed library services. We also discovered that the vast majority of our registrants have access to full or partial library services through health authority employers or through affiliations with post-secondary institutions.

While registrant services will end, the library will not close completely. The library will continue to operate with reduced staff as a corporate library supporting CRNBC staff in the creation of policy and other regulatory matters.

Library services will continue to be available until February 28, 2017. We encourage you to find out what other library services are available to you before this date; a list of resources is available on the CRNBC library homepage
