Perinatal Services BC: Provincial Maternal and Perinatal Mortality Review Committee: Perinatal Nurse

Perinatal Services BC, an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority, is seeking a perinatal nurse in good standing, to participate in the Provincial Maternal and Perinatal Mortality Review Committee.


  • The Committee has a mandate within the province to review, collate and analyze information surrounding maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality outcomes to better understand causation and work towards prevention.
  • The committee has been granted Section 51 Protection, through an order in council by the Province of British Columbia, in order to collect data and perform the required analysis.

Eligibility criteria

  • Background in neonatology.
  • The individual should currently and while on the Committee not be part of any disciplinary or other committee that may place them in a potential conflict of interest.
  • While the purpose of the Committee is not to review for individual practice, the Committee member may be in receipt of identifiable data as part of the committee review process.

The first two-hour meeting of the Committee will be held on September 8, 2015. Perinatal Services BC will notify the Committee appointee of meeting dates, time and location.
