Proposed Bylaw Amendments — Section 8.02(4) and (5)

On July 17, 2014, the Board of the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) approved Bylaw amendments to Sections 8.02 (4) and (5): Professional Liability Protection through the following motion:

“RESOLVED THAT, in accordance with the authority established in section 19(1) of the Health Professions Act, and subject to filing with the Minister as required by section 19(3) of the Health Professions Act, the Board amend the Bylaws of the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia, as set out in the Schedule attached to this resolution.”

The purpose of the amendments is to more accurately reflect the current state of the Captive Insurance Company, which is no longer registered as a captive insurance company, and was recently renamed to 0359298 B.C. Ltd. The proposed amendments do this by revising the definition of “subsidiary” within the text of the College Bylaws.

These amendments to bylaws will come into force on Sept. 15, 2014.
