On April 11, 2014, the Board of the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) approved bylaws amendments to Section 1.26: Certified Practices Approval Committee and Schedule E: Certified Practices through the following motion:
RESOLVED THAT, in accordance with the authority established in section 19 (1) of the Health Professions Act, and subject to filing with the Minister as required by section 19 (3) of the Health Professions Act, the Board amend the Bylaws of the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia, as set out in the Schedule attached to this resolution.
The purpose of the bylaw amendments is to align the Certified Practices Approval Committee membership with the needs of the Committee to better enable it to fulfill its duties.
The proposed bylaw amendments do this by increasing the overall number of committee members, and providing for representation of specific stakeholder groups such as certified practice nurses, nurse practitioners and nurse administrators.
A copy of the proposed amendments is being distributed to BC health professions colleges and posted on the College website to ensure that the public and other interested stakeholders may view the proposed changes in a timely manner.
