Education Program Review Committee — Two Vacancies

Are you are interested in becoming involved in the work of the Education Program Review Committee? At the June 2013 Board meeting, the Board will be appointing:

  • One registrant to represent practice; and
  • One nurse educator from a nursing education program

to the Education Program Review Committee. Term of office for both positions start July 1, 2013 and end June 30, 2016.


The Committee reviews nursing education programs and courses required by applicants for registration and makes recommendations about whether the Board should recognize them for the purpose of registration, and any terms or conditions of recognition. The Committee also regularly reviews and recommends policies and procedures pertaining to the review of nursing education programs and courses.


Eight to twelve meetings (full day) a year. If required, one or two conference call meetings. The subject matter determines the length of the conference call.


Between six to eight hours.


Both positions require:

  • Master’s or doctoral preparation, or substantial equivalents. 
  • Commitment to the College mandate. 
  • Appreciation and understanding of the committee’s duties and responsibilities. 
  • Ability to support and foster a meeting culture that is respectful of the questions and opinions of all committee members.
  • Reasoned decision-making, communication skills and time to commit to the role.
