Preparing for Renewal

Three things you need to know about  2013 renewal.

posted Dec. 18, 2012

3 things to know about renewal

  1. You need to allow yourself up to 30 minutes to renew your registration.
  2. You will need to complete a self-assessment of about 30 questions as part of the renewal process.
  3. Renewal fees are the same as last year (and the year before).

Plan to spend up to 30 minutes renewing

The renewal form may take up to 30 minutes to complete. While renewing, you can save the information you enter, stop, and return at a different time to pick up where you left off.

Additionally, we recommend that you renew by February 1 to ensure that you can legally continue to practise nursing after March 1, 2013.

The self-assessment questionnaire

New for 2013, all registered nurses must complete a self-assessment questionnaire when they renew their registration. The questionnaire supports your continuing competence and professional development. When tested, this questionnaire took between five and seven minutes.

The questionnaire will help you begin your 2013 professional development plan. We recommend that you preview the questions to prepare and speed up your time online.

Renewal fees are unchanged

Renewal fees are $473.76 (including tax), the same as in 2012 and 2011.
