CRNBC is pleased to announce the Conflict of Interest practice standard has been revised, and is now a joint standard with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses (CLPNBC) and the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses (CRPNBC).
The integrated standard preserves the key content from the existing CRNBC
Conflict of Interest practice standard. To improve flow and readability, the integration included consolidation of principles and some reordering; however the overall substance and intent of the original practice standard remains in this new, shared version. The revised standard takes effect
April 1, 2016.
Conflict of Interest practice standard is the second joint practice standard the three colleges have collaborated on, after
Boundaries in the Nurse-Client Relationship.
An integrated CLPNBC, CRNBC and CRPNBC Conflict of Interest practice standard provides increased clarity for nurses, their organizations, the public and other stakeholders about the expectations of a nurse with respect to conflict of interest. An integrated standard also establishes consistent professional requirements and underscores the collaboration between the three colleges.
