Certified practice — Quality Assurance requirements

Certified practice (CP) is a recognized CRNBC category of practice. Next year, RNs with certified practice must report their CP quality assurance during the 2014 renewal.

Are you eligible to renew your certified practice designation in 2014?

Renewal of RN registration starts in January, which means you will soon be letting us know about the quality assurance you have been participating in throughout the year. CRNBC-certified practice nurses must meet two additional quality assurance requirements to renew their certified practice designation.

Remember, you must have:

  1. engaged in your applicable certified practice area (the number of hours is not specified) within the previous three year period (2011-2013), AND
  2. included certified practice in your learning plan to be able to renew your certified practice designation in 2014. 

If you have not practiced within the last three years, you will need to complete the required coursework to obtain this designation again.
